Donate Your Vehicle
By donating your used vehicle to the American Lung Association of New Mexico you are enabling us to continue research and activities related to lung health and clean air, while providing you with a potential tax deduction.
We manage our own Vehicle Donation Program; therefore, all proceeds from your donated vehicle will be used to fight lung disease.

Where can I get my title notarized?
We have a licensed notary here at our office. Please feel free to bring your title to our office anytime between 8:30 and 4:30 Monday through Friday (please call ahead of time at 505-265-0732 just as a precaution).
How long does the process take?
Upon receiving your title in our office, you will be contacted by a towing service within 1-3 business days to schedule a pickup time.
What types of vehicles are accepted?
Automobiles, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, boats, motorcycles and vans in virtually any condition can all be accepted. Please call us at 505-265-0732 to find out more.
How is the tax deduction determined?
Claimed Value up to $500
If you are claiming up to $500 for your vehicle, the IRS will allow you to arrive at that figure on your own. Additionally, you will receive a donor acknowledgement from the American Lung Association.
Claimed Value Greater Than $500
If you are claiming over $500 for your vehicle, the IRS will allow you to claim the gross proceeds from the American Lung Association's sale of your vehicle. Gross proceeds exclude towing expenses and other fees.
Most of our donated vehicles are now sold at an auction that is open to the public. We work hard to secure the highest bid possible – this benefits both you as the donor and the ALA’s local programs. By selling vehicles to the public, rather than at a wholesale auction, we hope to secure a purchase price that is as close to the “fair market value” as possible.
The American Lung Association will mail you a donor acknowledgement within 30 days of the sale stating the gross proceeds.
Are donated vehicles towed for free?
Yes! All vehicles are towed for free.

You can get started by downloading your vehicle donation packet, or go in to your American Lung Association in New Mexico to complete the quick and easy forms. We will answer any questions that you may have. You can bring your title, packet, and even your car right to our office! We are conveniently located at 7001 Menaul Boulevard, NE (east of Louisiana).
